  • 5/16” or 8mm nut driver
  • Ratchet
  • 10mm socket
  • T15 Torx
  • Phillips screwdriver

  • Start by turning off the ignition and disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  • Lift and remove the engine cover.
  • Loosen the clamps at the throttle body and Mass Air Flow Sensor. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow electrical connector and unclip the harness from the air box. Release the plastic clip securing the radiator hose to the intake tube.
  • Pull firmly and disconnect the breather hose from the stock intake resonator. Then remove the breather tube from the engine by pushing the small tab on the end of the tube to the right.
  • Remove the factory air intake tube and resonator assembly from the vehicle.
  • Remove the air box assembly by firmly pulling up and out.
  • Remove the air box mounting plate and set the bolts aside.
  • Remove the Mass Air Flow sensor from the factory air box.
  • Insert and fasten the Mass Air Flow sensor onto the Spectre Performance intake tube with the provided screws. Insert the Mass Air Flow sensor sleeve into the intake tube.
  • Assemble the heat shield with the tabs placed on the outside of heat shield. Install the rubber bulb seal and trim if needed.
  • Place the velocity stack adapter in the heat shield and install the supplied flex coupler making sure the coupler is pushed completely against the heat shield and tighten the clamp.
  • Install the heat shield into the truck by reusing the hardware from the tray removed previously. If the holes do not line up with the heat shield, loosen the 4 bolts shown, but do not remove them. Once the heat shield is in place, securely fasten the 4 bolts that were just loosened.
  • Install the filter and tighten the clamp. Rotate the bracket back into position and reinstall the bolt removed in the previous step.
  • Install the 90° boot with the short side on the throttle body. Install one clamp on the throttle body side to secure the boot in place. Install a second clamp on the opposite side of the boot but do not tighten at this time.
  • Connect the supplied hose to the breather tube on the engine.
  • Install the intake tube and once in position tighten the clamps. Reconnect the MAF sensor wiring harness connector. Then connect the breather hose onto the fitting on the intake tube.
  • Reinstall the engine cover.
  • Lastly, reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. Double check to make sure everything is tight and properly positioned before starting the vehicle and check periodically for realignment, clearance, and tightening of all connections. Failure to follow the installation instructions or proper maintenance may void your warranty.
